Chattycast Special Edition: Windows 10 and Microsoft HoloLens
In which the crew assembles and wrangles Briefcase Man to talk about all the news out of Microsoft's Windows 10 conference.
It's only mid-week, so what's this podcast doing here? Following today's Microsoft conference, the Chattycast crew assembles and grabs a certain Briefcase-wielding man to talk about all the news from the announcement. We talk about Windows 10, HoloLens, Cortana, Xbox One streaming, and yes, even that Battletoads t-shirt.

TL DR;
Microsoft has announced a head mounted display with augmented reality. They are marketing it as holograms, but it requires wearing an autonomous computing device on your head. The human interface will probably combine head and eye tracking as well as gesture control. It is neat to see another company enter the head mounted display market.
Cortana is on Windows now, so you can ask her if you should wear a jacket or not. I talked about how I wish they would create more offline voice assistant services.
Battletoads is not coming out yet.
I am not going bring my HoloLens to the bathroom unless they come up with an augmented reality killer app for when you poop.
Daniel kept calling me "Ah Seef" on the podcast. People always foreignize my name.

Is the hope that you can pin certain windows to certain walls in your home? Like if I walk into a room does the display know - oh you're in the kitchen, here's your recipe library/app on the fridge? Or you're in your bed and your porn library is on the ceiling?
A few of the videos seemed to allow the viewer to infer that without specifically saying it.-
Just finished. Is there more information about apps for it? With a computer on your head, I assume a lot of the heavy lifting will need to be done by a computer that streams wirelessly to the device to keep battery life acceptable. And if that is not the idea right now, I think a lot more power could be leveraged if that is how it is done.
