'Astro Edition' A50, A40, and MixAmp Pro now available
Astro's new line of "Astro Edition" versions of its A50, A40, and MixAmp Pro are now available for purchase.
Astro has announced the next generation of its A50, A40, and MixAmp Pro audio devices today which the company says will be compatible with last- and current-generation consoles as well as PC and Mac.
This new line of products are being called “Astro Editions,” which feature all-new color schemes, updated audio performance, and new packaging. First is the A50 Wireless System Astro Edition, which supports PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac out of the box, Dolby 7.1 surround sound, uses KleerNet 5.8 GHz wireless technology, and has a built-in Astro MixAmp 5.8. The A50 also comes with an embedded battery and display stand.
The A40 + MixAmp Pro Astro Edition supports the same consoles as the A50, but it also includes an external MixAmp Pro, media control cable and a removable microphone as well as supporting customizable speaker tags.
The Astro Edition products won't have Xbox One out of the box, but instead the company will release "Xbox One Editions" seperately, although there's currently no date as to when that will occur.
All of Astro’s new products are currently available for purchase at select retailers nationwide or directly from their website. I hope you’ve saved up some serious cash as the A50 retails for $300, the A40 + MixAmp Pro costs $250, and the MixAmp Pro by itself sells for $130.
