Destiny launched this week, which means you’re going to see a lot of your friends playing the game this weekend. Bungie is known for holding special events and weekends in its previous titles, and Destiny looks to be no different as they have announced the first weekend special event for their game.

Between September 12 and September 14, Destiny players will be able to access to a special Crucible weekend playlist that features the Salvage game type. In Salvage, Guardians will fight in a 3v3 objective-style game mode that challenges each team to claim and salvage relics across a variety of small to medium sized maps. Rewards for taking part in this weekend’s playlist will be a-plenty as Guardians may receive Crucible Gear, Marks or Reputation.

Additional events have also been teased by Bungie such as the Vault of Glass raid happening on September 16 and the Queen’s Wrath, happening sometime in the month. Bungie also teased that new characters will be popping in at the Tower, and Public Events will begin triggering more frequently. Be sure to keep an eye out for any upcoming special Destiny events as we’re sure Bungie will reward those who do.
