As Steve reported a few days ago AMD looks to be set to release the 1.5Ghz athlon in January. With the 1.1Ghz just released though, that leaves a 400mhz gap. And according to ZDNet, AMD is indeed close to announcing the 1.2Ghz Athlon. It will probably be sometime this fall though, and in the winter AMD will also finally release the mobile version of the Athlon. AMD knows who they should thank for being able to release processors ahead of schedule, as they recently distributed $28 million among their employees.
