Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire getting shareable Secret Bases
Secret Bases will return to the Pokemon series with Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. This time, they'll be shareable through Streetpass and QR codes.
Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire is going to do more than remake the classic GBA experiences. The Pokemon Company International has announced that the Secret Base aspect of the original games would return, only this time, they can be shared with friends.
Users can exchange Secret Bases by using 3DS Streetpass and also through special QR codes, similar to what's currently used in Tomodachi Life. After becoming Secret Pals, players can tour each other's Secret Bases and battle with one another. These battles can also unlock special items and decorations.
"Another fun aspect of Super-Secret Bases is a capture-the-flag activity," explains the Pokemon website. "Examine the flag beside the Secret PC in another player's Secret Base to obtain it! You can take one flag per day from each base visited. Visit lots of Secret Bases and collect lots of flags to improve your team's rank and get rewards, including increasing the skills of your Secret Pals. Flag colors will change based on a team's rank, so you can tell another team's rank at a glance—and others can tell yours!"
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will release on Nintendo 3DS on November 21.
