Halo: The Master Chief Collection panel discusses Halo 2: Anniversary upgrades

343 Industries made its way to this year's Rooster Teeth Expo this past weekend. They brought along with them a new Halo: The Master Chief Collection trailer, centering around Arbiter. But more interestingly, they discussed some new details on what's coming to Halo 2: Anniversary's multiplayer mode during a live panel.
The folks at 343 went into more detail on what Halo 2: Anniversary's multiplayer will look like. According to Gamespot, in addition to remastered maps, the Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer playlists will toss in some new game modes. Ricochet will migrate in from Halo 4, along with Race, SWAT, and Infection. While the remastered Halo 2 multiplayer will have some new bells and whistles, 343 also assured fans of the original that the classic Halo 2 multiplayer would also be featured fully intact.
Players will also have the option to customize their controls and settings for each game, such as button placement and aiming sensitivity.
"You can customize your controls for each title, for each option, individually," explained original Halo 2 design lead Max Hoberman. "And we have the option for these things to, for example, apply a setting like set your sensitivity and with the press of a button, you can apply that setting to every single title in the collection."
You can watch the full RTX panel from 343 Industries in the video below. You can also check out the latest trailer for Halo: The Master Chief Collection underneath that.

If they really do it (and don't hogtie it to Windows 9), someone needs to run a 72-point font headline story along the lines of the Onion classic "HOLY SHIT MAN WALKS ON FUCKING MOON" ( http://store.theonion.com/p-4741-holy-shit-man-walks-on-fucking-moon.aspx )
...because it will have been the first Halo game to have an unadulterated PC experience. No Gearbox port shenanigans. No "Newest Version of Windows" shenanigans.
Then again, weren't there rumblings of Windows 9 being Windows 7 Mark II?

Given that MS has said they're trying to make an effort with PC, this would be a way to show it.
I'd welcome PC versions of the Halo games. The existing PC ports were sub-optimal, but not really bad per se. Not compared to trainwrecks like Dark Souls or even Halo-contemporary examples like Deus Ex: Invisible War. Honestly the largest problem with Halo 1 PC was that it was clearly set up for controller, but there was no easy way to use an Xbox controller on PC (I mean I still preferred M+K, but I know some didn't and still don't). With the 360 and XBO being straight USB that's no longer the case.
So long as they don't do this "but you need the latest version of windows" crap, they could actually have a great selling item on their hands. I know I might pick it up, and the last Halo game I bought (not rented) was Halo 1.
