The E3 insanity is ready to begin! Microsoft has the honor of kicking off this year's event with their E3 2014 Media Briefing, set to begin this morning at 9:30AM PDT (12:30PM EDT). So far, Microsoft has teased Sunset Overdrive with a recent video and has offered a brief tease of Forza Horizon 2, but little else. What else is in store for Xbox One? Jump in after the break and find out along with the rest of us!

But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it.       Not really. That and Hotline Miami 2 are the only things I care about in that list. I don't expect any games announced by MS, Ubisoft, or Sony to be exciting but I hope I'm wrong.

    It looks like they're not deinterlacing the video signal. But, it should be shot on progressive, so it's odd to get interleave like this. Unless it's the codec, but even that would be odd.

        I mean it's cool if they're not your thing, but they definitely have merit and the have a lot creativity behind them. More than Gritty Third-person Shooter Part 9.

  That was awesome, but I do wish they played all those game and not had so many trailers, but I know E3 is for trailers not the actual gameplay.
  
  MS did real good, good stuff night and day from last year. Sad no Gears announcement and Halo 5 gameplay.

    That's what I like about MS. They are willing to suck it up. Sometimes it doesn't make things better, but they evolve. If they had better people running things they wouldn't have to do it as much.

      Yep, MS really is steering the ship in a better direction across the board lately. Major props to their E3 crew, that was fucking amazing. This event is about games, and guess what - they fucking brought the noise through and through. Finally appropriate material for the audience, event, and underlying hardware.

    The only exclusive they have that I really want is Forza Horizon 2, and some of the indie stuff. If Sony doesn't pull it out the bag a show some of the stuff I want to see from them (new Uncharted, Last Guardian etc) then i might go with xbox later in the year.

      Possibly but they probably wouldnt create button prompts for the pc if it was just a dev kit. Also MS just said they're redoubling efforts to support the pc, so who knows..

        The Xbox SDK probably has a helper for displaying button prompts that figures out what input's being used. They were playing with a keyboard at mouse and probably on a PC based dev kit, but it doesn't mean they're targeting PC.

  They finally pulled a Nintendo and realized there are some fun games in the ol' Xbox library which can appeal to those of us who loyally played games since the original Xbox.
  
  Phantom Dust and Crackdown? Halo 2 Redone? I'm there.
  
  Now all I need is a Crimson Skies or Cat and Mouse Project Gotham Racing 2 remake next year and I'll be set.

    im surprised game devs are moving on that quicky, theres still 130-140 million ps3s/360s out there, and maybe 10 million nextgen so far. im no businessman but it seems like you could still make a ton of money on last gen

      Sunset overdrive and crackdown looked cool, if very similar. It's ironic that the sunset trailer capitalized on how sick we are of military shooter yet that was supposed to be the big wow opening of the presentation. There's very little new or interesting. Overall I found the presentation a little depressing. It seems like no one is taking chances. Very little creativity on display, just the same old pop songs.

        They had about 900 games that they had to show in 90 minutes. It was important for everyone to stick to a script so they could hit their points in the 2 minutes they had on stage.

        It's not. The bigger factor is the speaker's skill, but it's almost always a script so that important points aren't missed. Even if they could do it cold there are still speaking notes to make sure stuff isn't forgotten.
