Battlefield 4 adds console Squad Join feature in beta
Battlefield 4 is testing a Squad Join feature in beta on consoles, and has produced a video tutorial to walk you through the process.
DICE has announced it is trying out a Squad Join feature for the console versions of Battlefield 4. Though it's only in beta for now, the feature should let you form a squad and then join up into a match, so you all join and stay together easily between rounds. The beta is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
As detailed on the Battlefield Blog, Squad Join Beta supports up to five players. For now, it only supports Conquest, Team Deathmatch, Obliteration, Rush and Domination game modes.
You can choose the new option in the multiplayer menu, which will let you choose from active squads or create your own. Then the squad leader can initiate a quick match and bring his team with him. If you quit a squad, you can rejoin it later as long as it has an open slot. This is only the first iteration, and DICE says it's planning more features like managing party members and making it available across all game modes. Check out the brief video tutorial for a look at how it works.
