New game releases of January 20-26
As you may have noticed, all's a bit quiet in the world of video games lately. This continues next week, which brings PC RPGs Might & Magic X and Blackguards, tactical shooter Insurgency (which has been available through Early Access for a while), Vita skate 'em up OlliOlli, and not much else.

OlliOlli was originally planned for iOS, but the developers at Roll7 ultimately preferred the Vita’s physical controls to the touch screen. Ribbins says that the game will definitely be coming to other systems, “but not immediately.” Sony’s funding behind the studio has ensured its status as a Vita exclusive for the time being.

I'm patiently awaiting Thief. I had been so worried about it, and although I still have a few reservations about the "reboot", the previews I have been reading lately have eased my concerns greatly. This is my all-time favorite gaming IP, and it seems that Ubi has taken care to ensure that us old-time Thieves will feel at home. But I sure am gonna miss Stephen Russell. Anyway, that is the first game release this year I am buying. Until then, I'm gonna blow through JC2 on my PS3....
