Are you ready to cut more rope? ZeptoLab has released Cut the Rope 2 to the App Store, bringing new characters, gameplay, and missions for Om Nom. The game promises 120 new levels, but what's new with the gameplay?

It seems like the big change for 2 is the introduction of the "Nommies," Nom's new friends. Five different characters can grant new abilities to Nom. Roto can carry Om Nom, Lick can make small bridges with his tongue, Blue can lift Om Nom to new levels, Toss can throw objects, and Boo can scare Om Nom to jump.

"This is the first true sequel to Cut the Rope," ZeptoLab CEO Misha Lyalin said in a press release. "We've shaken up the formula and really wanted to push the envelope on what today's mobile platforms can offer. The new gameplay elements, design and graphics will thrill Cut the Rope fans and attract a new generation of players."

You can pick up the game on the App Store as a universal app for iDevices for $0.99. Of course, there are add-ons, like solutions, balloons, and the ability to unlock all level packs.
