Sega has announced a line-up of classics for Nintendo 3DS, each of which will get a 3D facelift fto boot. Games like Space Harrier, Sonic, and Ecco will start rolling out in late November, available at $5.99 apiece.

The 3D updates are scheduled as follows:

  • 11/28 - Space Harrier, Super Hang-On

  • 12/5 - Sonic the Hedgehog, Altered Beast

  • 12/12 - Ecco the Dolphin, Galaxy Force 2

  • 12/19 - Shinobi 3, Streets of Rage

"These games were completely re-built to offer a robust 3D experience that offers more modern gameplay while still keeping true to the original," Sega of America president John Cheng said, in the announcement. "We look forward to bringing these classic Sega titles to Nintendo 3DS for fans--both old and new."

Those need to be at least $1 cheaper to hit that impulse buy. Past $5 and I just won't feel I'll get my money's worth. I thought I would play X-Men for a long time, but I think I played through it maybe 3 times and haven't loaded it since. Same thing with Turtles, etc. I guess I take these HD remakes the same as most mobile games: disposable, so I never want to pay much for them.

Actually, I'd suggest $2, those really are poxy old games that simply don't hold up to a modern gamer's expectations.
Sonic the Hedgehog, the original, really?
