Galactic Starfighter bringing PvP space battles to Star Wars: The Old Republic
BioWare and EA are bringing space battles to Star Wars: The Old Republic for the first time with the upcoming Galactic Starfighter expansion.
When you think of Star Wars, it's easy to think of climactic battles between Jedi and Sith. But it's easy to forget that starship battles are just as big a hallmark of the series as lightsaber duels. BioWare is ready to focus on PvP space battles with the next Star Wars: The Old Republic expansion, Galactic Starfighter, which is set for a February 4 release.
The Galactic Starfighter expansion will introduce 12v12 PvP space battles at no extra charge. Players will get a wide array of customization options to design their fighter however they please. They can also upgrade their ship's weapons and abilities as they play. The expansion will also feature a number of PvP game modes, which have not yet been specified.
Active subscribers will receive early access to the Galactic Starfighter expansion on December 3, along with a slew of bonuses. If you're not a subscriber yet, you can grab a 30-day subcription for $14.99 before November 1 to receive an early gunship unlock and custom paint job. Players with Preferred Status (anyone who makes an online store purchase) will get access to the expansion on January 14.
