Grand Theft Auto 5 soundtrack goes on sale

Rockstar has released a three album soundtrack for GTA 5.

If you want to recreate the hijinks of Grand Theft Auto 5 in the real world streets of Los Angeles... don't. You'll hurt someone and get arrested. But, here's a safer alternative: you can have the game's soundtrack playing in your car.

The three album soundtrack is now available on iTunes. Each album can be purchased individually for $9.99, or as a full compilation for $24.99. The first volume focuses on "Original Music," featuring original music from various artists made specifically for GTA. The second volume focuses on the original score--a first for the franchise. Finally, the third volume focuses on the in-game radio, featuring "snippets" from every station in the game. Unfortunately for fans, the 19 track selection is far from comprehensive.

Possibly the best soundtrack in a GTA so far helped largely by the aperance of The Descendants.

Honestly, I'm not super into the GTA 5 soundtrack, there's some good songs, but it's the music and radio stuff isn't capturing me as much as previous iterations.

Saints Row soundtrack may have spoiled me though.

The soundtracks seem to be getting worse. I still think that the best was Vice City, but that might be my 80's bias.

I suspect the cost of licensing music is getting more expensive.

Or maybe we are getting too old for this shit. I just don't know most of the songs on most channels, while in Vice City almost each song was a hit for me.

I've yet to find a station that is like The Journey from GTA IV.

I loved me some Philip Glass and ambient landscape music.

You know what I like the best? The menu music. Here is a twenty minute loop of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0h09RpeMSY Twenty minutes was gone before I knew it!
