Obsidian Entertainment has been releasing a fair amount of concept art and news for Project Eternity, its crowdfunded ode to isometric RPGs. But, we've seen few screens from the game itself. Ten leaked screens have surfaced, showing off the studio's work in progress.

The leaked screens were originally created as part of a vertical slice, or a cross-section of the game cut from the world, Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart told us. "Not sure when we will be officially releasing them, but at this point it would probably make sense to do so."

The way Obsidian is using the Unity engine is to create real-time lighting and other 3D effects on top of pre-rendered backgrounds. The company is also sharing tech and tools--as well as a well-known RPG storyteller--with Wasteland 2 and Torment developer inXile Entertainment.

This post deserves some attention. I'm looking forward to this game about as much as any right now.

I'm so excited to just get a random IE style game whenever this comes out. So glad I backed.

I don't see how these are "leaked." They're posted on their forums and if you supported their Kickstarter campaign, you get email updates every so often and these were included a couple weeks ago (could have been longer ago, I don't remember).

Well, they are technically only supposed to be for backers I think.

But I'm pretty sure they knew they'd get out anyways.

We didn't officially release these screenshots. They were exclusive to a magazine to be seen in a smaller print format.
