This is what Assassin's Creed 4 looks like on PS4
Ubisoft creative director Jean Guesdon and associate producer Sylvain Trottier talk about what we can expect in the PlayStation 4 version of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is going to be a transitional title, with one foot in the current generation and another foot in the next. The PlayStation 4 version, naturally, will be able to pull off a few tricks that the current-gen versions can, and Ubisoft has talked about what we can expect from it.
In a video on the PlayStation.Blog, creative director Jean Guesdon and associate producer Sylvain Trottier talk about the tweaks. Improved graphics are the most obvious, including more small details in the world. The two also talk about the seamless ground-to-naval gameplay, that will let you run around a city, set sail, attack other ships, and board them, all without a loading screen. They also make a brief reference to friends being present in single-player, though they didn't go into detail about what this may mean. It could simply be a reference to PS4's built-in social functions.

Fair enough, but both consoles will have x64 AMD cpu and basically be PC's now, you would think this is going to spawn something positive on the PC end of things.
As far as game innovation that boils down to a few things in my opinion(from experience):
1- Raw power at your disposal to do things
2- The tools to create things easily and without constraints
3- And imagination and creativity from the devs [this is really not in the consoles control per say as long as they have point 1 and 2 covered]
From the PS4 stand point it has point 1 and 2 from what I gather so it should allow the juices to flow with ease now that it is basically a PC dev environment, we shall see.
If you consider last gen they where different environments this new hardware should make things way easier that will allow 3 to be that much easier to focus on.-
I'm with you valcan_s, I think consoles have been holding PC back and I think we should see a nice jump in technology and design with the next gen of consoles. And for at least a year or two I think we'll see the consoles have a graphical advantage over the average PC. (Notice I said 'average' and not "valcan_s" grade of PC's :) ).

It looks nice, but was that gameplay footage? Aside from the share button and the improved graphics, what unique features can we use that gives us a different experience playing it on the PS4 versus the PS3? Those are questions that I have, but it is pretty. Can't this be done on the PC already though?

Of course it can "Can't this be done on the PC already though?" and it could be done on the PC for years now.
Don't get me wrong I am hard for the PS4 but if anyone tells you a stupid slogan tag line like "this can only be done on next gen consoles" they are full of shit.
Come to think of it I think some where already saying the raw power is like a Super PC or what ever they said, LOL I don't think so :) not gonna ramble my comp specs but yeah no.
Still like I said am really looking forward to PS4 day 1 for me, but I wish those quoting it would not try and convey it is as > than a gaming PC for that seems far fetched no matter how efficient it is.
Maybe I am wrong?

I don't think anyone is claiming this is a true next gen title. It'll just have some extra bells and whistles on PS4. I basically see it as the same thing that good developers are doing with PC ports right now. Bioshock Infinite is a PS3 and 360 game, but the PC has higher res textures, higher resolution, and more lighting effects. I suspect that just about all of the launch titles for PS4 will be just like this. Incremental steps while the old gen is kept on life support for another year.
