Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 includes 'Fearmaster' light gun
Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 will pack in a new controller that relies on biometric feedback to determine if you're keeping your cool, resulting in damage and accuracy bonuses.
Chances are you haven't paid much attention to the long-standing Cabela series. The hunting simulators do well enough sales to iterate every year, but they don't seem to get much attention in core gaming circles. This year one of its spin-offs is at least coming up with a creative twist, though, with a controller that will reward you for being calm.
The One of Swords blog details the new "Fearmaster" light gun peripheral to be packed in with Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013. The shotgun-style controller includes a biometric heart rate monitor on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, and motion sensors on all platforms.
That means if your heart rate is up or your controller is shaking as a bear comes after you, the game will know it. If you remain calm, your shots will have more accuracy, take more damage, or slow down time. The game will also feature a two-player co-op mode with waves of dangerous animals coming after you.
The game will hit on October 23. The PS3 and 360 version will cost $79.99 with the new controller, or $39.99 for the base game. The Wii version will be $59.99 and $29.99, respectively.
