PlayStation Plus early-July games detailed
Sony has just announced the new line-up for July's "Instant Game Collection" on PlayStation Plus. New additions include Gotham City Impostors, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX, and Renegade Ops.
To coincide with E3, Sony kicked off its "Instant Game Collection" for PlayStation Plus. Now that a new month has rolled around, the company is adding three more games and keeping nine of the previous offerings around. Starting tomorrow you can get some Batman impersonators, hungry yellow orbs, and ridiculous military dual-stick gunning.
The PlayStation.Blog announced that Gotham City Impostors, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX, and Renegade Ops. The blog also highlights the upcoming launch of Rainbow Moon, which as previously reported will come with a 20% discount on PS+, and the Summer Sale with larger discounts for Plus members. Content for late July will be revealed at a later date.
Other games sticking around from June include Infamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, Just Cause 2, Saints Row 2, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Choplifter HD, and Sideway: New York. That means these three new games are replacing Virtua Fighter 5, Hard Corps Uprising, and Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone. If you're a Plus member and want any of those--and trust me when I say you want Hard Corps Uprising--you should grab it while you have the chance.

it makes a lot of sense for all parties. How many copies of Gotham City Imposters are being sold right now? I would venture to guess the sales are near 0. But that's not to say it's not worth playing, so for a small fee you get a few hours of fun perhaps, the devs see a small sales spike when the month expires and a few people want to keep playing, and Sony finally effectively monetizes their online services outside PSN/Home

apparently you keep the ones you got even if you resubscribe. The part I was confused about (and JINKY didn't mention) was that the games are only available for download in a month then they disappear.

^this. As much as we give Sony crap for the dumb things they do, this is something worth lauding, I'm genuinely pleased with this - I've got LBP2 and Darksiders out of it and that's an immense bonus since I never anticipated titles of this quailty coming out free so soon (18 months and 30 months respectively, I think).

That's perfectly fine when you consider I never signed up expecting this at all. Remember this is a new addition to the service, and the price hasn't increased, nor have they asked me to "upgrade" for this. Sure its a rental service, but how is that a bad thing if I'm effectively getting it at no extra charge on top of a service I already have?

Was kind of hoping for another Full Triple A game to come out but I heard these three downloadable games were good when they released a while back.
