While every new and highly popular online game with millions of preorder, always experiences launch issues + rarely is a game shipped 100% bug/issue free, I think that these D3 issues has been fairly minimum pretty quickly solves to be honest.

I played the whole day yesterday with a friend, and apart from a few issues of lag (could have been due to others on the same WiFi), and me getting disconnected only once (took under 10 sec to get back in), then I think it was a pretty flawless day yesterday. And that was only the second day after launch.

I don't know if other regions had a different experience than me (Europe), but I really see no reason for Blizzard to apologize. This game is so awesome, and everyone not playing is missing out!

I don't get it why some people are constantly whining about lack of offline/singleplayer.

First of all, the experience of being online (and being able to interact and play co-op if you should ever wish to do so), is such a big plus, that I understand if Blizzard didn't want to offer anything without that component.
Maybe they don't want to give you that hollow feeling like in Skyrim where you can't show off any items you find or craft to anyone, and you can't show off your character to anyone or do anything for other than your own sake (like decorating your home or equipping cool looking gear, when nobody will ever see it anyway). Btw Skyrim is still a great game...

Secondly, you CANT have offline mode characters and items ever being able to connect interact/exchange with online characters or the auction house.
In Diablo 3, your character is REQUIRED to be online and constantly streaming to avoid hacks/cheating/exploits/modifications in regards to item drops. It HAS TO BE online to be secure.

Say Blizzard had made an offline mode, then I'm 100% sure that A LOT of people would eventually feel the need to play and interact with other players or friends, but then be surprised that everything they worked on is worth shit, because they can't ever communicate with others from the 'online' world.

I'd be completely happy with the option of being able to play off-line and not have my character, items etc. saved online. Not because I like cheating but because having mandatory always online has disadvantages. 1) sporadic lags / disconnects / connectivity issues etc. 2) Can not play on loptop while travelling bc of high data costs of tethering 3) I've had save games that were online get corrupted in other games and would very much dislike any kind of rollback, deletion or corruption of my chars / saves.

Exactly what Lukiopimp has said. Extremely reasonable points. Well said.
