Farmville movie in consideration
Toy Story screenwriters Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen said they are in talks with Zynga to write a movie adaptation, and implied that it's Farmville.
Yet another video game property is apparently turning into a movie, and for once we won't have to worry about Hollywood screenwriters messing up the plot. Zynga's Farmville is being adapted to the big screen, and the project actually might get some big-name talent behind it.
IGN reports that Toy Story writers Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen said they may work on a Zynga project, and hinted none-too-subtly at Farmville. "We're in conversations with Zynga to do something with one of their brands. Can't really say too much on that front yet, but 'Old MacDonald' didn't have a factory, if you get our drift."
Zynga reportedly refused to comment, but the implication seems obvious. Of course, not all screenwriting projects come to market, and a script is only the first part of several stages of making a movie. We can't say for certain that we'll ever see Farmville hit theaters, but if the Toy Story writers are involved and with a lack of existing story to ruin, it might be genuinely good.
