Ubisoft is getting ready to launch yet another entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise, and since Revelations builds on the multiplayer from Brotherhood, the company is planning a beta test to make sure all the stabbing functions properly. And like Brotherhood's PS3-exclusive beta, this one for Revelations is hitting PlayStation 3 owners first. From September 3-11, PlayStation Plus and Uplay members will get access to the multiplayer beta. Uplay registration is free, so if you're not a (paid) Plus subscriber, that's an easy avenue to the beta. The announcement calls this beta a "timed" exclusive, but makes no mention of when we might see it on the PC or Xbox 360. When you log in to your stabbing simulator, you'll have access to 9 characters: the Sentinel, Vanguard, Guardian, Vizier, Thespian, Deacon, Bombadier, Trickster, and Champion. We've previously heard that Ubisoft is making these characters connect to the main story, each with their own history. The maps include Knight's Hospital, Antioch, and Constantinople -- which we all know is now Istanbul, thanks to They Might Be Giants. The four multiplayer modes include Wanted, Manhunt, Deathmatch, and Artifact Assault. Ubisoft assures us this is only a taste of the maps and modes to come. Ezio has been cozy with Sony. Aside from the two PS3-exclusive betas, Ubisoft also offered free PS3-exclusive DLC for Brotherhood. On the other hand, the company also released a surprising amount of free multiplayer DLC for both consoles, so Xbox 360 fans probably won't be left out in the cold. The game is due November 15.
