Quake News

A news post on Blues News got some info from an attendee of the first Annual Roadmaps to the Future of Cluster Computing conference, saying that one of the announcements was a plan to restructure the Quake code to allow a server to run on a cluster so you can have thousand of players on a single server, without any further details, but hopefully we'll hear some more on this soon.

And in other Quake news, a news post on Q3F.com (thanks Ryan Stotts) indicates a new version of Q3F(ortress) beta 1 is planned for release today, including "tons of new features, commands and fixed bugs" , as well as a new map, q3f_well. You can look at six screenshots of that map here.
