    DKo5’s 1000th post BONANZA.

I figured that for my 1000th post I’d do something a bit special, sort of a “Who is DKo5” post. I’m a fairly new poster to the Shack, but I lurked for years. I really like Bungie ( http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=7175041 ) and their games (you might have heard me talk about Halo ( http://www.shacknews.com/jazz/search.x?query=Halo&db=current&user=DKo5&type=all&sortby=date )). I’m going to take this time to throw a little Halo Shack party, throwing up links to videos I’d like to call, Links of Awesomeness.

    Links of Awesomeness

http://www2.mythica.org/halo/hbo/Halo50K.WMV - Here’s a really cool Halo video that was put together in anticipation for the Halo50K tournament that happened in April. Really good editing, some awesome music, and some really nice shots. If I’m ever feeling down about Halo… wait… does that ever happen? Anyways, I just like to watch this video to get me majorly pumped up to play Halo.

http://www2.mythica.org/halo/hbo/Halo_Seven.WMV - No, this isn’t a reenactment of the movie Se7en in the Halo game, nor is it a trailer for Halo 7, its merely a totally rad video of Halo frags and stuff.

http://www.mindwarp.be/The%20FrameWork/Halo50KRedux3.mov - Yet another Halo video for Halo50K. This one has some pretty nifty editing (sometimes it is almost headache inducing), but its still got some cool effects and its extremely high res and a REALLY good watch.

http://www2.mythica.org/halo/hbo/first-halo-movie.mov - Ever wondered what Halo would be like as a silent movie? Here’s your chance! Some old and recent clips of Halo put together as a silent movie. Good watch! … well, I liked it

http://www2.mythica.org/halo/hbo/HaloHoedownWMV.wmv - Whats to say, this video just cracks me up.

http://www2.mythica.org/halo/hbo/halo2_announce_qt6_large.mov - Well, uh, this is the Halo2 announcement trailer, and who hasn’t seen it… but really, it still 0wns my bones.

http://www2.mythica.org/halo/hbo/evolution.of.halo.mov - This is a nice compilation that was put together for Bungie Fanfest 2002 showing the Evolution of Halo (it went from an RTS to a 3rd person game, to an FPS on the PC/Mac, to an FPS on the Xbox). I want ALL those weapons in HaloPC, plz.

    http://www2.mythica.org/halo/hbo/Asshole.WMV.zip The infamous “Asshole” video.

http://www2.mythica.org/halo/halo_warthog_jump_high.mov And (almost) last but not least – the Warthog Jump video. This is the one that started the whole craze. Some of the best music -> video footage of Halo yet (‘scuse me while I kiss the sky’). No matter how many times I watch it, it Never. Gets. Old.

http://www2.mythica.org/halo/old/halo_e3_2000.mpeg - Finally, the E3 2000 9 minute and 42 second trailer. I was already looking forward to Halo before seeing this video (Macworld videos blew me away), but this totally did me in. I watched this video at least once a day, usually before going to bed. You can't go through life without watching this video, I beg of you.

Well, I’d like to think that this MAJORLY tldr post won’t just get collapsed by 99% of you, because there really are some bodacious videos linked here. Now, of course, I didn’t post ALL my favorite videos, only a few. If you’d like to know more, just head to http://halo.bungie.org and check it out! Oh yeah, please feel free to Shackmsg me with ANY Halo questions, or if you’re ever wanting to get a game going on XBConnect, or if you just want to talk about Halo or anything Halo/Bungie related.

I’d like to thank hAx3d for being my Halo XBConnect partner for the last, ermm… eight months now. We regularly play Halo on XBC (pretty much every weekend) for 4-6 hours at a time, and its STILL a blast after all this time. I’d also like to thank Flawless Cowboy, Johnny Rotten, jedi_27, and everyone else who has ever had a discussion about Halo here on the Shack with me.

Also, I’d like to make sure everyone is aware that HaloPC is scheduled for a September release, and it will be good. I had a chance to play it at the Bungie Fanfest 2003 a few weeks ago, and it is indeed the Good Stuff (tm). I hope to see you all on the servers! :)
