Battlefield 3 trailer: 12 minutes of gameplay
A full twelve minutes of Battlefield 3's single-player is revealed in a new trailer. While it may not be multiplayer, it is jolly nice.
Following a long string of short Battlefield 3 trailers, publisher EA has released the promised twelve-minute gameplay trailer showing off the single-player campaign in DICE's shooter.
While it would be nice to have a peek at JetProne64's multiplayer side after so much single-player footage, it's still all very pleasant.
Battlefield 3 is scheduled for release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this fall.

while it might be gameplay, i wonder how much you actually control?
pulling your comrade out of the fight after he was hit is really cool, but is there just one button that does pretty much everything and you run up and press that? and the fight scene, im inclined to believe that it just happens. there were no prompts or quick time notifications it seemed to me. so unless they teach you how to fight in close combat in the beginning id say that you lose control of your character and it happens for you.
sure this may happen when you're playing the campaign and its all real footage. but how much are you actually controlling? perhaps they have spoken on this... idk. just raises more questions.-
They took the prompts out of this video probably because it caused some static last time they showed it. That scene with diffusing the bomb and hand to hand combat... that's a quick time event.. there is no other way to do something like that. That is still my least favorite part of the presentation. But the game still looks awesome. As long as that's a very small part of the game.

it feels dishonest to me. sure it's gameplay, but i honestly doubt that the technical problems, if there were any, stopped them from showing the prompts. seems to me like they just glazed over some minor details to make the game look better. if it WAS something technical like static, fix it, then release it. or have a notification that says "Some aspects of gameplay have been altered to better your viewing experience" or something lame.

I don't know man... this game really couldn't look a whole lot better. The lighting and animation systems are especially impressive. I'm not a CoD fan at all and I like the way this game seems to pace it out a bit more. It's not pinned at 11 the whole time and there are not endless waves of magical warriors popping out of clown cars etc. It looks very intense.
But still... what I really want to see (and play) is multiplayer... -

i dont want to call many of you a dimwit or dumbass or a dickwad.. but i think i should..
DICE are not known for their single player campaigns but i do not see them doing anything worse than what you get with ur regular FPS... this is what CoD did and still does.. what you should note from this video are the tech advances, the destructible cover.. the big point will be the multiplayer as usual.. and DICE do them better than any damn developer in the business.. CoD has a really crappy MP mode.. despite that everyone goes gaga over it.. the recent Black Ops was crappy and buggy in its single player as well, but that didnt stop people (fanbois mostly) from cooing about it incessantly..
This game will be brilliant in its strengths that matter most - multiplayer.. DICE know how to make a multiplayer FPS work.. they did it with BF 1942, with BF2, with BF BC2 and even with the simple yet powerfully effective BF 1943..
single player will always be scripted and in most games it does suck, nothing good about it, nothing memorable.. nothing special.. skip it and just move on to the beautiful multiplayer !!-
Or play enjoy for what it is enjoy it and then play the beautiful multiplayer... Me personally after Going through CoD Black Ops and prestige I am done with the series though Gun Game had to be the most fun I had in multiplayer mode it ranks up there with Griff Ball. Even still after its all said and done Gun game is not enough to make me come back. I really regret trading in my BF BC 2 and I will most likely go buy another copy( kept my save data).
I am ready to move on to something new and Bf 3 looks like it will be it.
