Battlefield 3 gameplay trailer deploys explosives
The second BF3 gameplay trailer has arrived, demonstrating the simplest way to remove an embedded sniper--explosives.
The second Battlefield 3 gameplay trailer figuratively explodes onto our screens today, bringing the edited highlights of another mission, culminating in a virtual building literally exploding. It's but one small section of the single-player preview Xav recently experienced.
Developed by DICE and published by EA, Battlefield 3 is scheduled for release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in fall 2011. Do check out our interview with DICE GM Karl Magnus Troedsson, covering topics including the studio's belief in PC gaming, BF3's multiplayer focus, and making things kersplode.

...excellent history of releasing a buggy mess, only saved by gameplay that can NOT be found elsewhere.
If someone was able to capture everything in a BF game, a direct clone of it, but was able to ensure that it was 99% bug free / balanced on day-1, it would wipe DICE out.
Sad fact of life. I love you DICE, but I always want more from you.

That looks pretty boring. If this was a MP game, the player would maybe duck out of cover a few times and plug the sniper in the head. Instead you're regulated to shuffling behind AI and waiting. At the end, the whole squad is crawling on their bellies behind minimal cover. We get the point, cover stops bullets.
Less scripted sequences, more MP helicopters.-

"Retarded"? You really feel it was necessary to use that word?
My point is that gamers have seen it all. We've survived earthquakes, buildings falling down, shot down helicopters, blown up tanks, etc etc. In this preview vid, we spend 2 minutes behing handheld (following AI) in order to down a single sniper. How thrilling is that?
