The first trailer for Mass Effect 3 has been shown at the Spike VGA 2010 show, confirming the EA Store slip-up which listed the game for pre-order yesterday. The trailer shows a besieged Earth under attack from a new enemy.
The trailer lists the game for a Holiday 2011 release. No platforms were confirmed, but it's likely PC and Xbox 360 are definite for that date.

I hope there is more than one location in this game. With the first two games spanning galaxies, it would be lame if the entire game took place on Earth.

You'll probably travel around to the different major alien homeworlds/fleets and do various missions to try to convince them to help you fight the Reaper invasion of Earth.
Which could be pretty hilarious if you've played an 'evil' character throughout your career in ME 1 and 2. I will be quite satisfied if the Citadel and its member species tell my Shepard to go screw himself since he's been quite the prick. -

I absolutely agree. If it takes place on Earth I will be pissed. I'll still love it but Mass Effect is known for it's space exploration and it's galaxies. You'll prob have to collect soldiers again like in Mass Effect 2 and maybe have to save some of the characters from 1 and 2 from their homeworlds as the Reapers try to annihilate everyone. Maybe. Maybe
