Super Meat Boy Gets Headcrab, Goo Ball, and Pre-Order Discount on PC, XBLA Sale Ends 11/21

Team Meat has officially confirmed that not only will the PC version of Super Meat Boy be available for pre-order at a discounted price starting on November 23, but will feature Half-Life's Headcrab or a Goo Ball from World of Goo as playable characters - depending on where the game is purchased.

Folks pre-ordering Super Meat Boy on Steam (beginning November 23) will be able to do so for $10 - a thirty-three percent discount from the normal $15 price. Steam versions of the game will include a playable Headcrab of Half-Life infamy, which will replace the playable Gish character present in the Xbox 360 version. "Some of you (trolls) may be thinking 'HAY HEADCRAB ISN'T INDIE, F*** YOU SELLOUT ASSHOLES,'" quips Team Meat. "Well....I dare you to turn down a Headcrab. They are adorable."

PC gamers electing to download Super Meat Boy from somewhere other than Steam will also be able to take advantage of the pre-order discount price as well, but instead of a Headcrab, will receive a Goo Ball from World of Goo as a playable character. "The Goo ball will be basically identical to Gish, accept obviously cuter," explains Team Meat.

If you'd still rather pick up the game on XBLA, you can still download it at the discounted price of 800 Microsoft Points ($10) before November 21.

Kind of strange they'd choose to replace Gish as it was a PC game.
Wish it the head crab was an extra, not a replacement!

In the comments they point out the Steam version will be Steam Play, so Mac support too but they don't know when the Mac version will be done.

Yeah, and not just Gish either, Alien Hominid was originally a flash game character (don't know if they will be replacing him though). And having Tim from Braid stay would be nice too.
If they did, I was hoping Quote from Cave Story to replace him, but they're probably going to use him for the Wii version.

He said in a podcast that the cave story people were absolutely adamant about never letting Quote be used in his game. They just don't do that sorta thing apparently.

I'm assuming the "Cave Story people" are nicalis, because Pixel doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would mind (he even let fans port the game to PSP and DS).

If it is nicalis, that's just another reason for me to not buy anything of theirs.
