EA Brings Indies 'Gatling Gears' and 'The Fancy Pants Adventures' to Consoles and PC in Spring 2011
Electronic Arts announced today that it has inked deals to bring two new independently-developed games to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade this Spring: Vanguard Entertainment Group's 'Gatling Gears
Vanguard's Gatling Gears is a twin-stick shooter set in the Misbound universe, a setting the game shares with the team's previous game, Greed Corp. Players assume the role of the appropriately-named Max Brawley, and will "fill the air with lead as they try to defeat a monopolistic corporation that is depleting the world of its natural resources." Vanguard Entertainment Group was recently founded by Guerrilla Games' co-founders Martin de Ronde and Michiel Mol four years after Guerrilla was sold to Sony Computer Entertainment, Europe.
The second indie EA is helping bring to market, The Fancy Pants Adventures, is a brand new title based on parts one and two of the breakthrough platforming series developer Brad Borne initially created for Flash back in 2008. If you're not allergic to playing a game in your browser, they're free, and well worth some of your time.
The brand new game will be a completely fresh adventure that combines gameplay elements from its Flash predecessors, while adding weapons, enemies, tricks, abilities, and an entirely new world. This time out, Fancy Pants Man will have to rescue his kidnapped sister, Cutie Pants.
The Fancy Pants Adventures and Gatling Gears are planned to hit Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC in Spring of 2011.

I played through Fancy Pants 2 back when it had just come out. An excellent game. Possibly my favourite momentum-centric platformer since the 16-bit Sonic games. I'll be glad to get this as soon as it comes out.
