THQ Delays Homefront Until March 2011

THQ has delayed Homefront, its Kaos Studios developed FPS, until March 2011, reports Eurogamer.

This comes after the publisher delayed Red Faction: Armageddon, originally planned for a March 2011 release, back two months into May.

The game will be released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The PC port is being handled by Digital Extremes.

That they're giving it more time makes me somewhat more interested in it.

That they're giving the PC port to DE makes me worried. DE isn't the same company it was back in the UT days............

also there's more focus on the single player, which means the multiplayer will probably be some match making affair with limited content.

Brilliant! More games should focus on singleplayer, and if a developer wants to make a multiplayer game they should focus on multiplayer only. (Tf2 anyone?)

The port is is purely PC'ification of the game. Multiplayer for Homefront is a huge focus of the game and is entirely developed by Kaos. DE has been doing a fantastic job of making sure the game feels exactly like a PC game should. Do not fear, the PC version of the game will rock.

I really hope you guys pull off a hit, Frontlines was a disappointment given the Desert Combat roots and all. Too much of a fast paced twitch shooter but with features geared for a slower paced one, I recall the rover to scout an area but it was a pretty pointless endeavor . Full screen scopes seemed a bit lazy too, should have 3d modeled scopes to look through.

Well, Kaos studios built their name on their multiplayer abilities (Desert Combat mod, Battlefield 2 prototyping, Frontlines:Fuel of War.....all awesome MP).. I'm just hoping DE is doing nothing more than programming work .

Nope, I'm definitely interested in it. Waiting for real details though before I get too excited about it.

The single player was actually pretty damned fun even though the game was supposed to be more MP focused.

Mildly interested, saw it at GamesCom this year and it looked extremely linear to me. At first I was disappointed because I thought its a more open world (as in Fallout 3), but then I saw how in deep they went with the storyline and that made it sort of bearable to me. (Personally I hate linear single-player gameplay like in CoD4 for example).

Every time I see this game at E3 I'm excited, and every time it's delayed I'm worried.

I'm looking forward to this game, guess they figure the two boys will be duking it out. So who will be worried. In any case even though i AM excited about this game I AM looking forward to Brink, so they'll have competition even in 2011.

But from what I've seen it looks interesting, nothing out of the ordinary, just good. Maybe there polishing this thing up to make it exceptional.
