Fable 3 Pre-Order Bonus Allows Players to Make an NPC Villager [Updated]

[Update: 11:30am] The "Villager Maker" application is now available on Xbox.com/Fable3. According to Microsoft, the special NPC will lead your Fable 3 hero (or villain) on a "thrilling new quest" and a "1,000 gold fortune." But your unique NPC's presence doesn't end there, according to Microsoft, as the character will "continue to interact with you on your journey to become ruler of Albion."

Participating retailers include: Amazon, Best Buy, Gamestop and Newegg.

[Original Story] During the latest episode of his weekly podcast, Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb revealed a pre-order bonus token for Fable 3 will allow players to create a special non-playable character that will live within their own copy of the upcoming Lionhead-developed title.

No specific retailers were revealed in the discussion; however, Major Nelson says the "Villager Maker" will be available to tinker with soon on Fable 3's official Xbox.com product page.

Using the browser-based app, players can decide on the name, gender and look of the NPC as well as answer a series of questions that will help develop their creation's unique personality traits. According to Major Nelson, there are 2000 different visual combinations for the characters and players will be able to share the look of their creations on Facebook and Twitter.

Although the Xbox.com character creator will be available for all to play with, only pre-order customers will recieve a token that will allow them to place their creation somewhere in the world of Fable 3.

Fable 3 is coming to the Xbox 360 and PC on October 26.
