Battlefield 3 Beta Access Included with Medal of Honor Limited Edition
This means that we should be seeing the beta for Battlefield 3 before October 12, 2011. Nothing else is known about Battlefield 3, but it was confirmed to be in development in June 2009. Sounds like a fall 2011 release may be in the cards.
We presume this means we'll see Battlefield 3 for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 as the beta details mention Xbox Live Gold being a requirement for Xbox 360 users. The game will use the Frostbite 2 engine, which powers Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and the multiplayer portion of Medal of Honor, both of which are PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 titles.
Thanks to Shacker ratsofatsorat for the tip.

OH NO! It's multiplatform!

He had fair rights to believe that it could (and should) be PC-only. It's lost a ton of excitement for me now that we know it's multi-platform.
We can expect to not have Prone and the UI will probably be pretty messed up along with the Server Browser (as always).
They took too long to get this game out - enthusiasm is pretty low at this point. Hopefully we hear some cool stuff to boost it back up in the year ahead as previews start to appear...-
No. They wouldn't do that to me. BF3 will have prone. DICE's server browsers have always been terrible so I am not expecting much there. In the PC version I am expecting things like prone, no regenerating health, etc. The consoles are going to get the port this time. It must be so. They would not call the game Battlefield 3 and make it a port like the Bad Company games were.

Yeah we already know what they're going for. I'm just tired of PC games being shoehorned into a console footprint. PC to console ports have been great but the other way around never has been. While I enjoyed BC2, it's still not as good as BF2. Consoles don't dumb a game down it's the lowest common denominator. Unfortunately, the "just works" crowd is what's ruining gaming today.
