Activison Enlists Nintendo DS for 'Companion' Call of Duty: Black Ops Title

3
When CIA-backed operatives dive onto PC and consoles in Call of Duty: Black Ops this November, a "companion" title on the Nintendo DS will land behind enemy lines to join the fight at retail.

Developed by n-Space, Call of Duty: Black Ops on the Nintendo DS will feature the expected level of military-based action, from "taking the controls of an attack helicopter to flying an experimental stealth fighter jet."

The handheld title will include six-player online multiplayer along with a new Perks system and a "unique two-player co-op mode" as well as arcade and challenge modes. Our money on the "unique" element for the "two-player co-op" mode? Splitscreen. How hardcore would that be on Nintendo DS?

Call of Duty: Black ops is scheduled to hit the PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo DS on November 9, 2010.

I don't even know why they bother calling it the same thing as the others. It looks nothing like it. I mean, jesus christ, look at how much of the screen the ui takes up!

The only way this game has a chance of making a sale is by slapping Call of Duty on the box.

I guess. But it looks nothing like the game as it was originally envisioned on other platforms.

Umm, the UI is on the bottom screen and the gameplay on the top screen. I take it you don't have a DS. ;)
