If you cannot quite believe that Gran Turismo 5 has a release date, perhaps this E3 trailer and round of screenshots will go some way towards convincing you that yes, it might actually come out on November 2 in North America.

A tricked-out selection of retailer-exclusive in-game cars will be offered as incentives for pre-ordering Polyphony Digital's PlayStation 3-exclusive racer. There's also a fancy $100 Collector's Edition on offer, boasting goodies including a "diecast 2009 Nissan GT-R Spec V," 300-page "car-lover's guide" and a Gran Turismo key chain.
