Evening Reading: An E3 Approaches

It's full-scale planning frenzy with the madness that is E3 2010 only 11 days away. Sunday night, June 13, it all gets going with Microsoft's Cirque du Soleil extravaganza for Natal. It sounds like an early start to the week kicking off on a Sunday night. But instead of more manageable E3, the timetable for the show this year really compresses everything. From what I'm seeing, publisher participation is back to a level of roughly four years ago. At the same time, the opening day of the show is only a half-day with major press briefings that morning.

Couple that first day reduction with the proven tendency of the show to start thinning out after lunch the last day, and this giant E3 has been reduced to two days of quality floor time. It's a shame to see publishers coming back and expectations resultantly rising again only to have the whole thing become such a rush. For our part, Shacknews will be hitting every corner of E3 2010 to bring you a great feed to read with all the best -- like we aim for every day.
