Mafia 2 Collector's Edition, Pre-Order DLC Revealed
A specific price for the Collector's Edition wasn't mentioned in today's announcement, though retailer listings indicate that it commands a $20 premium over the regular edition, making the Mafia II Collector's Edition $79.99 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and $69.99 on PC in North America.
According to 2K, the Collector's Edition will be "available in limited quantities across select North American retailers and internationally," packing the game plus:

- Made Man Pack: Free access to in-game downloadable pack that lets players get behind the wheel of two different luxury automobiles modeled after cars from the period. In addition, Vito will look the part with two new "made man" suits, including a vintage tux.
- Hardcover Art Book: Get to know the families of Empire Bay with a 100-page photo album-style art book that takes fans through the artistic design process of the game.
- Mafia II Orchestral Soundtrack: Immerse yourself in Empire Bay's symphonic masterpiece with the Mafia II score recorded by the Prague FILMHarmonic Orchestra on CD.
- Map of Empire Bay: Get familiar with the neighborhoods and own the streets with a high quality, tear-resistant map depicting the 10 square miles of Empire Bay and all the hangout spots.
The game itself is due to hit all three platforms--PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360--simultaneously in North America on August 24, then internationally August 27.

Agreed with the general sentiments here actually. Whats with the different preorder bonuses and DLC packs BS? Why not give gamers all of those? At least sell the extra as part of a bonus package DLC or something. Collector's edition I can still understand, but this preorder crap and nickel and diming really needs to stop. Damn it.

calm down Clarice, it's just some fucking cars and suits for the main character, they're basically just visual shit. and if you want to complain about pre-order DLC, go bitch to retailers since they're the reason for it. they will more or less refuse to sell a game for pre-order these days unless it's got some kind of digital pack-in that's exclusive to their company.
