Modern Warfare 2 'Resurgence Pack' DLC Map Pack Priced, Detailed

21
Two of the five maps in the second Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map pack, the 'Resurgence Pack,' will be revamped versions of Call of Duty 4 maps, Infinity Ward community Robert Bowling has told Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hyrb.

Call of Duty 4 maps Vacant and Strike will return in renovated form, much as the 'Stimulus Package' MW2 downloadable content brought back Crash and Overgrown.

Bowling reveals the three other maps to be the "desolated amusement park" Carnival--complete with a rollercoaster, world of tomorrow and fun house--the "sniper haven" Fuel and Trailer Park, described as "a maze" with "super tight corridors."

Hitting Xbox 360 on June 3 then PC and PlayStation 3 later, the Resurgence Pack will cost costing 1,200 Microsoft Points ($15). Bowling also notes that "if demand's high we're gonna go right out the gate and have all the maps on all the playlists."

Rumour has it that Wolfenstein and Quake 4 developer Raven has been drafted by owner Activision to work on multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: World at War maker Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops, which is due out on November 9, 2010.

Its $90 in Europe without any of the map packs because they made it 60 Euro.

Or it was, don't know how the dollar course is, it was ridiculous anyway. And all the map packs are 15 Euro on Steam too if I'm not mistaken.

i'm hoping for some free "real content" from BC2

No dedicated servers is the real bullshit IMO. This is just icing on the cake.

That the funny actually: A LOT of people would be ready to pay for a DLC package adding dedicated server support :)

Tell that to every single "super awesome delux edition limited version" of every game ever sold. Prices for PC & video games have stayed static for far too long. These products have resisted inflation for the past 20 years, things change, cope with it or play some old games like X-Com.

I'm not cheap but releasing a map pack 2 or 3 months after the first one is released for 15$ is fucking retarded. Why would anyone in their right mind spend an extra 30$ in that time period to get more maps. If you buy the game new do the maps come with it? Why on earth would you buy a game that isn't ready to play out of the box and you have to spend an extra 30$ to play with everyone else when you just bought it. You are an idiot.

Why would you spend $30 to get ten new MP maps: becasue you play the game X (where X = the number of hours you play) hours a week? The game is ready to play out of the box. Depending on the diff level you have a sigle player exp between 6-10 hours, toss on the MP maps included and you can easily play and extra 100 hours?? Of course that number is different for different people. I could want to play 20 hours with the MP maps already available while someone else could play 180 hours. Even if you don't buy the maps you still play with everyone else who has the game. I don't think you are fully aware of how IWNet works(poorly I might add). Before calling someone an idiot i would try to understand the facts first. Now you need to ask yourself if $90 is worth between 10 - 200 hours of enjoyment. Mileage would vary from person to person. I would answer yes.

It's better than most special edition games that come with an art book and whatever, but it is kind of a lot to spend on a few maps. $1 a map makes sense to me, maybe $2. Of course most people will pay more if they really play the game a lot though.
