PlayStation Store Update Day Moving in May

The PlayStation 3 and PSP's online PlayStation Store will soon be adopting a new schedule, one that will move its once-a-week updates--packing downloadable games, demos, add-ons, videos and such--from the current Thursday slot to a bit earlier.

The North American PlayStation Store will be updated every Tuesday beginning May 4, Christina Lee--host of the PlayStation Network's bi-weekly video show PULSE--revealed in yesterday's episode. "We're moving to Tuesdays along with the PlayStation Store weekly update," she explained. "I'll see you right back here on Tuesday, May 4th."

Europe's PlayStation Store will begin updating every Wednesday once May kicks off, according to a post from Sony Europe's Mike Kebby noticed by Joytsiq.

Competitor Microsoft updates the online marketplace of its Xbox 360 console with new demos, add-ons and such sporadically throughout the week, though the release of download-only Xbox Live Arcade games are reserved for Wednesdays.

Nintendo, meanwhile, updates the Wii and Nintendo DSi's online marketplaces with games and downloads each Monday in North America and each Friday in Europe.

Awesome, so PSN should get demos before Live.

not necessarily. the only thing that xbox live has a set day for is xbox live arcade games. everything else can hit whenever, though it's tended to be thursday as of late because that's when the playstation store updated.
