Mass Effect 2 Gets Shocking DLC Weapon
"The Arc Projector is capable of discharging a massive electrical blast that can jump to multiple targets," explains the company.
Other upcoming additions include the new hovertank and five more missions.
Thus far, all of the downloadable content for the sci-fi shooter-RPG has been free of charge--provided that you bought the game new or ponied up the $15 for Cerberus Network access--through that won't last forever, as paid DLC is on the way.

There's enough heavy weapons already. How about a nice handgun?

Yeah, the nuke cannon is fun, but it's far too limited. You end up being effectively without a heavy weapon for entire levels, because you either don't have enough ammo for it, or you are trying to save it for the big nasty at the end of the mission.
Fortunately on my Insanity run through I'm playing as an Adept so I end up not firing a gun most of the time anyway. :P

It took me most of the game before I found a decent upgrade for the semi-auto pistols.
The inventory management from the first game was a bit much, but it needed some tweaking instead of total removal. Better arrangement of items, grouping them in categories instead of a big long list of everything.
The new system is okay, but it's kinda meh when there's only 2 of each weapon type, plus a few specials that only certain characters can use. -
This gun is a novelty like the flamethrower that I never use.
Actually, I never use anything besides the nuke launcher once unlocked. It's the best by far, since nothing else is effective at parts with more than one heavy mech or Scion on Insanity difficulty.
I think they need to add a lot more of the individual N7 armor pieces, before adding in more guns to the game.

Hmph. Never too many weapons imo. Why not give soldiers an extra heavy weapon slot or something!
Wish they'd develop more powers to train through research so that game play could change a bit, instead of just bringing the SAME companions that have the powers you need. Research could combine some power effects together into one power to streamline power use (especially if your class is like the adept/vanguard with an abundance of powers you won't ever use because you have to spam the most effective ones most of the time). I'd love to go up to an enemy with a shotgun blast to the face, lift, and then home run them into space with charge. This was obviously a balance consideration, but I think there is room to wiggle especially on power recharge/use.
For example: Have singularity swallow targets whole like the the Gamestop PreOrder gun if certain conditions are met. I loved combining effects with warp, but there needs to be more! Simply spamming powers into a target then warp is fun, but it could be better. energy drain (if necessary) > singularity > warp over and freak'n over. Only once a majority of the power recharge research is done can you start throwing in throws and other stuff. (Not that you couldn't already with a squad mate, but just saying)
I used just about all of the heavy weapons fairly on insanity. Does it matter? No. I could have just brought the pew pew laser the entire time, but each weapon has a mission or two where it would be at least on par with the laser. It's somewhat silly how a lot of people simply stick to one weapon because its the "best" after firing one or two shots of each other weapon during a random mission and not the one where it'd be effective. You have the option to change weapons incredibly often (even in mission) in the game, so why not switch things up? Companions are used in similar ways (powers). That's just my take on it.
I know its speculation, but this shocker could be effective if it locks down with a large aoe (or possibly chains), has a crapton of ammo/power, AND a huge bonus versus synthetics?
Load up the hardest/favorite fights and try it out. Who knows, it could be fun?! Well, for five minutes or so. This weapon will have a place on my back if it has that overload bonus. AoE mech destruction for the last fight in Tali's rescue mission WILL be fun I think :D
Wow. I was going to post just a few sentences ;x Sorry for the long post.
