Mega Man 10 Coming PS3 and Xbox 360 Too

9
As expected but previously unconfirmed, the latest of Mega Man's downloadable side-scrolling adventures will hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in addition to the Wii.

Word of Capcom reviving the blue bomber for a tenth numbered outing arrived last week via Nintendo Power, with Siliconera and Kotaku pointing out that the latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu lists the game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 too.

According to Nintendo, Mega Man 10 will hit North America as a WiiWare download in March. No word yet on pricing or release details for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360--Mega Man 9 was sold for $10 and hit all three platforms within two weeks.

Nice I do like a good MegaMan the DS version have been Boss.

The only real thought on my mind is, will this have nice HD 2d vectors, sprites, 2.5d or are they going back to doing that mental 8bit style?

Anyone have any screens? Please tell me its not that 8bit wackness...

      Ahhh Mother Fu...

      http://nintendopower.com/images/NP250_DLmega.jpg

Is there any reason these guys can not make high quality 2d graphics, and don't tel me its stylized shit I can wip out my NES and play the same thing, but then why would I do that if I have the SNES megaman games?

I just don't get it why people want to play in 8 bit graphics? We can push the envelope and make very high end vector graphics that scale to different resolutions and apply 3d graphical effects to make some real crazy 2d games... perhaps I should just do such a project in XNA...

This is what I am talking about --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owQg9CRJgN0

Now that is what they should do to MegaMan, no one can tell me they would not rather want this 2d presentation instead?

They are intentionally going for retro-style Megaman. If the 8-bit graphics turn you off of getting it so much, the game wasn't targeted towards you anyway, so it's like complaining that a kids show doesn't have enough blood and gore.

Its all about the feel and the gameplay. The original megaman games were the best, they are simply carrying the tradition.

When you change the look it has a high chance of changing the feel of the game. You then have to rework mechanics and you end up with a different game.

It's also going to be 8-bit. Why is it that big of a deal, though?

I didn't particularly like Toki when it was released. Upping the visuals wouldn't improve on the gameplay to say the least, nor does it help for games like Mega Man.

I think that some people are just graphic whores :P.. I mean, honestly if you can't play a megaman game in all its 8 bit glory then move on because there are plenty of people who want to play it like that.
        ..
        .
But yeah, they should totally remake it and give you an option to turn it off :P

They must not believe that the time, money, and effort to produce brand new HD art for megaman will be appreciated enough in terms of sales to actually create the game that you want. 2d isn't cheap, 8-bit megaman has a built-in legacy and audience, and it's probably cheap as hell to make. Win for capcom.

Yeah, I think Capcom has discussed this publically - in their estimation it is not economically viable to do a kickass HD megaman, which is unfortunate. I'd prefer that to these 8-bit remakes, but if they're all we can get I'm pretty happy with them too; MM9 was fun

What they should do then is make a contest where the "winners" provide the HD artwork to Capcom. This gets them a real game that people will pay attention to in the spotlight and gives Capcom some free publicity and brownie points for starting up another indie dev. Plus it gives Capcom some space to work on the rest of the game. I think that would work! And monkeys might fly out of my .. sorry thats just too old to even finish :P

which is strange considering they made mega man powered up, and maverick hunter x for the psp.

i'll always love the 8bit blue bomber, though. the more the better.

Thats why you used to see soooo many recycled fighters. The 2d art is very expensive they say.

I'd love to se a new megaman game with an awesome art style an everything, that was actually good. Im still fine with playing the tried and true though.
