Evening Reading: Boxed In
And screens? Well I know I always want to see them too on any game I'm interested in. At 1UP we had modules to throw this sort of thing up on the site but that gets lost too easily and really the fun of screens is in commenting and speculating on what you see there. As we work on improving Shack one of the goals will be to find a presentation method that doesn't treat these things as "news" but does give us a place to talk about the latest.

can someone explain the plot of condemned to me?
holy shit. i mean, i loved FEAR too, but this story. holy shit. it falls to pieces during the last chapter.-
You're going after a deadly gang of hobos. At the end, you come across the head hobo. You kill him but not before becoming a hobo yourself.
You start out in part 2 as a hobo. The plot is basically the same, but you come across several filmings of Bum Fights. You are also hopelessly addicted to liquor.
That's all I got out of the whole thing. -

As I understood it (what little plot there was, beside hobo-beating), some dude was using hypersonic noise to induce craziness in the hobo population. This is also why you keep finding the dead birds. There's some hints here and there that the protagonist is also caught up in the crazy, and at least some of the things he experiences may be hallucinations.
But really, it's about grabbing a rusty pipe and beating hobo faces in with it. -

What Condemned (particularly part 2) really nailed was how crazy/angry an enemy felt toward you. Like they seem to get pissed off when you come nearby and they just basically go from a harmless sitting down position into a full psycho yelling rage. The subtle touches of yelling/swearing while they come at you, or while they beckon you from behind a fence and freak out trying to find a way to get to you. AI nowadays just turns a corner and either points in your direction and shoots or comes at you. No real 'emotion' involved.
