Evening Reading: Traveling Games

Tuesday of Thanksgiving week so we're all about ready to tune out and go into holiday mode. Due to travel I won't be catching up too much on the big games. I do have my PSP to fall back on, though, where I'm addicted to PixelJunk Monsters. It surprised me that a game I found such a good home game translated that well to the smaller format. In general I find portable gaming tough to sort out. On the one hand I dig that we get these large scale productions but on the other I've learned that I don't ever play them. The times when I can settle in to play that sort of game are also when I'm at home, and then I'll kick on the home systems that are better suited to high fidelity play. I've always wondered whether there's a way to make a game work with a broad overarching path that breaks down into easily consumed chunks for playing on the go.

While that may take some time to answer, we can give you the condensed version of today's best stories:

If you're into Dr. Who, check out the opening to the 2009 Christmas special

Somehow I missed that we're getting a new Muppets movie!
