Weekly PC Sales: Left 4 Dead by Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age, Borderlands and Torchlight
Original: The week before Left 4 Dead 2's release curiously saw Valve's zombie shooter get left behind by digital customers, as online pre-orders for the sequel slipped from the number three spot on Steam's top ten to, well, a position not listed on the chart.
Unsurprisingly, sales juggernaut Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 topped Steam's charts, with Direct2Drive, which refuses to sell MW2, seeing Dragon Age reign again.

That makes no sense at all, every time I've looked on the Steam store, L4D2 has been number one or two on top sellers!

For reference, the ShackHype Digital Download Top 10 this week were:

#Boner: Torchlight
#5: Team Fortress 2
#6: Dragon Age
#7: Crysis Bundle
#H8: Borderlands
#9: Mass Effect
#10: People trying to pre-order the Torchlight MMO -
I'm kind of thinking that Steam pre-orders, being final (unlike at retail) would perhaps just show in the charts week to week.
If so it would make sense that on release day, where preorders stopped and so did the 10% off that sales would be a little drab.
Perhaps looking at the active players will give a better rough idea of sales. Looks like 2:1 or 3:1 in MW2's favour. (link http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ )
