Evening Reading: NPD Day
Have to say I was pretty excited when I saw Uncharted 2 there in the top software spot. Not only is it a great game and a big win for PS3; no matter how much attention the multiplayer part garnered, it's still a story-driven single-player game first and foremost. That makes me happy. Not seeing Brutal Legend in the top 10, though, makes me sad. With plenty of time during the month to get in the sales and the big internal cuts at EA this week I imagine Double Fine is really under the microscope right about now. And then there's Halo 3: ODST. It launched late in September and blew everyone away with 1.5 million sold. Boy did it fall off fast. With the whole month on shelves it only managed a 6th place showing with 271,000. Combined, that puts it at around 1.75 million sold so far. Halo 3 did 3 million the month it came out alone. Is Microsoft's Halo starting to show some tarnish?
