Evening Reading: Weekend Confirmed

Hey everybody. I had every intention of having said hello by now. My plan was to use the first post in the column I plan to do for that. Instead I've added additional pavement to the proverbial road. The column is definitely still on and I'm considering what to call it so suggest away.

In the meantime I figured busting out the Friday evening chatty made for a pretty much perfect place to get acquainted.

Moving down to LA from San Francisco has gone pretty well but it came with one big drawback: my consoles and gaming PC remain packed up while I look for a permanent place to settle. At least I got to break the two week drought playing Modern Warfare 2 at the review event this past week. I'll have a story ready for you when the embargo lifts.

Still, I have to say I've been getting increasingly jealous of all the games being played that I want to be playing too, and none more than Forza 3. I love racing games and wound playing countless hours of Forza 2 both offline and online where we got truly awesome races going. When I saw this shot Ajax posted of the work in progress Shacknews livery on a BMW it got me that much more anxious for the moment I plug in the HDMI cable and get my consoles back online.

One other thing this Friday posting gives me a place to do: Weekend Confirmed and Happy Halloween!

    Dead Girl: Watch this movie!

Pretty original, and surprisingly atmospheric, I really liked it.

Also, good Halloween movie for tomorrow! Blockbuster should have it.

I read about this a while back from one of my google reader feeds. The article was written by a woman that couldn't get past the fact that it was a fictional story.

She spent three paragraphs whining about womens rights, and social views of women as objects and blah blah blah and I almost forgot I was reading a movie review.

It's in the Netflix queue, so hopefully I'll get around to checking it out.
