Invader Zim Creator Kicks Off BioShock 2 Artist Series
"We asked several uniquely different artists to create a piece of art that represented their Rapture to celebrate the profound effect the city's beauty has on the BioShock community," said 2K community manager Elizabeth Tobey.
The first piece, Vasquez's "The Sisters" (see above), debuted online today. Additional art will be released over the coming months.
"A few months back, 2K Games asked if I'd do a print for BioShock 2, the sequel to one of my favorite games of all time, so naturally I said 'HELL NO, YOU WIFE-SWAPPING FREAKS!'" writes Vasquez on the BioShock blog. "They repeated their offer, stating again just who they were and I realized my mistake, promptly apologizing for the misunderstanding and accepted gladly."

I loved Johnny the homicidal maniac

Not only did I love Johnny, I loved Squee, Happy Noodle Boy, all the witty smart ass comments in between the frames. I was a sad, sad panda when Invader Zim was cancelled... I can't believe it wasn't picked up by Adult Swim because although it was way too mature for Nickelodeon it's a perfect fit for The Swim. Jhonen is one talented individual and it seems like he disappeared for the past few years but I'm glad to see him come back to the light by making art for videogames, for Bioshock 2 no less! What a perfect fit. His art style is so great, it got ripped off by hundreds of other "artists" who never get it as good as he does. His humor is superb and spot on, anyone that has read the "Coffee Shop scene" in JtHM knows. I can't go on enough about how exciting this is to me. Now let's get Zim back on the air! His misadventures are something I miss, I can only watch my DVD collection so many times before I memorize every line!
