First Screenshot of Quake Arena Arcade
The image (shown left) shows several new levels to be included in the Pi Studios port, with Arena Gate being the only holdover from the original Quake III.
Up to 16 players will be supported across 40 multiplayer maps. Modes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Tournament, Harvester and Overload.
No launch date for the title has been announced, but Pi notes that a new build has been sent to Microsoft recently.

Whilst a nice idea I guess.. I'd get too frustrated playing this with a controller.
Now if Doom 2 was resurrected - that would be awesome.
Speaking of.. I just made this thread of old games I'd like to see on XBLA

of all the FPS games out there, none of them are less suited to a gamepad than Quake3.
On the plus side a whole new generation can enjoy Quake3, in a way that is so slow and unresponsive that they will probably not like it.
On the amusing side, when they get good on Xbox Live they might try to take on the people who consistently murder the fuck out of me on Quake Live. It would be worth a laugh. -

It had way better graphics, I'll give you that, the things that were good about the PS2 version was that it had all the maps of the original game, and it gave you real dual analog control, you really are forced to play Q3DC with the mouse because it just gimps the gameplay too much with only one stick on the pad.
