Relic's 'Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine' Coming to Xbox 360, PS3 (Updated)
Original story: A new console-specific Warhammer 40,000 action game is heading to consoles courtesy of Dawn of War developer Relic.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine (360, PS3) will see players controlling a single space marine across an action-heavy campaign, according to IGN. A trailer for the game shows a zoomed-in battlefield rendered in the Dawn of War style.
Relic says that players will gain items over the course of the title, and that it is placing a big focus on multiplayer, though few specifics have been divulged.

What really needs to happen is for a game somewhat similiar to Mass Effect but in the W40k universe.
Also, Relic really needs to get Dan Abnett (far and away the best 40k author) to write a story and characters for one of their games. The story and characters, at least in DoW1 (haven't played DoW2 yet because of my current system), were pretty terrible.-

I love that series, but I think most people who aren't familiar with it wouldn't see how it is 40k, and would just write it off as another sci-fi military shooter. Basically like a COD but with lasguns. Space Marines are way more iconic than the IG for people who aren't big fans of 40k outside of Relic's offerings.

I cannot agree with you enough. This game will be a complete fuck up and failure if they make it God of Warhammer. A single player beat em up game like Devil May Cry or God of War will do mediocre sales and be quickly forgotten. A sprinkling of Mass Effect RPG elements and a good writer like Abnett (maybe toss in some coop to boot) will give them the best odds of birthing a new money minting franchise.
