AMD Conference Call

1

AMD Zone has a summary of a conference call with AMD. While the first page is pretty much a presentation of the Q1 results, the second page is a Q&A with CEO Jerry Sanders. It has some good info, including the fact that the first mobile Athlon should be out around end of 2000, the X-Box was too costly for them, and there will be a 10 fold in shipping amounts of the 900/950/1000mhz Athlon in Q2.

I read this a few hours ago and it is a real great read on what AMD is going to be up to. They're being rather slow moving in terms of adopting DDR memory. They said it'll be out 2Q to as late as 4Q. I personally thought that it would be out sooner but I guess AMD feels pretty good where they're at to just wait a little longer to introduce new memory types. I'm saying this because I feel that they actually might wait until 4Q to implement DDR memories for thier processors.
