Rock Band Country Track Pack Announced

Slip on your snakeskin boots and grab yer Stetson, 'cause Harmonix has announced the rootin' tootin' standalone retail Rock Band Country Track Pack. Yeehaw. Partner.

Aside from encouraging silly country talkin', the Country Track Pack offers 21 tracks from country artists including Kenny Rogers, Shania Twain, Steve Earle and the Dixie Chicks.

While previous Track Packs--AC/DC Live aside--compiled existing Rock Band DLC, Country brings many new tracks to Rock Band which Harmonix says will be exclusive to the Country pack "for a limited time" before being released as downloadable content.

The Track Pack is playable standalone, but Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 purchasers will also receive a voucher code to add the songs to their Rock Band or Rock Band 2 library.

The Rock Band Country Track Pack will be available in stores for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2 and Wii from July 21, priced at a boot-stompin', rib-eatin', line dancin' $30.

13 of the track pack's 21 tracks have been announced, listed below.

Alan Jackson - Good Time
Brooks & Dunn - Hillbilly Deluxe
Dierks Bentley - Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go)
Dixie Chicks - Sin Wagon
Drive-By Truckers - 3 Dimes Down
Jason Aldean - She's Country
Kenny Chesney - She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy
Kenny Rogers - The Gambler
Lucinda Williams - Can't Let Go
Martina McBride - This One's For the Girls
Rascal Flatts - Me and My Gang
Shania Twain - Any Man of Mine
Steve Earle - Satellite Radio

The remaining 8 tracks will be announced at an exciting unknown future time. Yeehaw.

About time they came out with something for country fans. There are SO many great country songs I would love to see in Rock Band and/or Guitar Hero

  Well, it is called ROCK BAND. That might have something to do with it. Seems over time, the lines have obviously been blurred and for the sake of appealing to a wider audience, and thus no genre is safe from the plastic guitar treatment.
  
  Not that it is a bad thing. I certainly won't complain about more available and diverse content. In the end, it's just DLC. Don't want it? Don't buy it.

    And the way HMX does it as a platform as opposed to Activision's "every game is unique" approach, is also much lighter for users.

  hey I agree with you man. Music you can feel good about listening to with your kids for the most part. Not ready to subject my 3yr old to metallica yet.
