Stargate Worlds Still Coming, Developer Vows
The studio has seen a rash of problems in recent months, including issues paying its employees and bills. Combined with a GatesWorld interview in which consultant Brad Wright was pessimistic about the game's future, things looked grim.
However, the studio says that it simply failed to keep Wright in the loop in regards to "the continuing progress on our game," stressing that "team members are in the office seven days a week to deliver Stargate Worlds."
Explained Cheyenne Mountain:
It's true that the production of Stargate Worlds has been significantly impacted by the greatest worldwide economic downturn in decades, but we are still raising enough money from angel investors to keep the dev team working. We are currently negotiating several deals that will cover our financial responsibilities and fund the remainder of development. When we sign those deals, you'll hear about it. Until then, we'll keep building Stargate Worlds, because right now, that's the only thing that matters to us.

I don't understand how this game can look so poor in the graphics department, it better be good. I can't help but think that all their financial issues over the last year will have effected content, gameplay and probably in-game support when it finally sees a release.
Oh well, good luck to them, I'll probably try it, but only because of the setting.-
that's what i'm thinkin but it looks like the screenshots don't even have AA on so maybe the game is still HIGHLY unoptimized an they can't run it on max graphics effectively..i'm betting it'll look better than WOW an look how many people play that!
I will only play this if we're allowed to control the shooting where as in traditional MMOs you have to go to attack menu, select power to use, then the character automatically does the attack without you controlling it. I wanna be able to control the shooting likea 3rd person shooter...that's the only thing that could get me into an MMO. I tried EVE online an that's the only one i could ever see myself playin..but i didn't stay after the trial lol cause it takes too long to get one of those big ships.-
I was SO waiting for this game 3 years? ago when it was first announced...what a roller coaster ride. I own every SG-1 and SG-A season, all the movies and as much as I want this MMO to succeed, I think it has been shown many times in the past how BADLY MMOs based on an existing universe perform.
I expect to be able to use Zats, just like from the show. One shot stuns, two kills and three incinerates. If they don't have that, why bother basing it off the series?
Off-Topic:
Try Darkfall Online, it combines D&D style mechanics with 3rd person style combat, a full loot system and a real MMO like Eve where you can go anything and go anywhere from day one, but you better know what you are doing. I think it is going towards Clan / Racial warfare.
I was playing last night and had five or six people of another race who were on mounts attack and kill me and loved every moment of it. I got what I deserved for being out alone and lost everything I had on me including the shirt on my back! Thankfully I knew better than to be carrying anything serious, so I only lost a few items but it was awesome!
Just an FYI - The game is seriously unbalanced right now in some areas, but shows promise if the devs can just get it right.
