Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack Sells 1 Million

Teryarch's first downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: World at War sold over one million downloads during its first week on consoles, publisher Activision has revealed.

The $10 download hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 19, tempting players with four new multiplayer maps, including one dedicated to the popular Nazi Zombies mode. Details on a PC release are said to be "coming soon."

In comparison, Infinity Ward's only map pack for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare took nine days to break a million. However, that pack saw a staggered release--Xbox 360 first, PS3 two weeks later--while the WaW maps hit both consoles simultaneously.

I like what hype call of duty 4 created, and now COD series is just a license to print money. At every LAN I play COD but I don't get the fun of it, it's been done so many times. I'll keep playing TF2 with my free class updates and maps thankyou :)

  To be fair, I think CoD 1 and 2 created the hype. CoD4 just got even bigger.
  
  And it's not like the game shipped with a substandard number of maps. If Valve didn't release new maps for TF2 I'd be pissed.

    pc pride? lol! COD4 and COD:WaW are amazing on the 360. And playing games on live with shackers is why I love my 360 and rarely play games on my PC anymore.

      cod4 was fine on the pc. i havent played 5 on it but i bet its about the same
